Every first of the month I look at my previous month, and my upcoming month. What did I do? What do I need to do next? What are my goals? We've set our goals and it looks like they're getting finished one by one! We love that noise! Trying our hardest to do at least one doodle squig a day. We didn't quite reach that goal this week, but we did pretty darn good! Only missed one day! We're going to make that up, though this weekend and shoot for about 6 new stickers on Saturday and Sunday.
Clicking on the photos will redirect you to the listing on Etsy :)
Lookie here. Finally finished. We squiggled up our pancake tortoise (Malacochersus tornieri). That shell. Boy. Their shells are rather different. Not only are they artistically interesting, the physiology of them is strange too! The shells are flat and long, and are also fairly flexible since the shell comes in a number of pieces and openings that allows for them to move. How cool is that? In the wild these guys can be found in southern Kenya and eastern Tanzania among brush and savannah lands. The namesake of the tortoise comes from their flattened shell. Little squashy tortoise must have reminded someone of a little flap jack.
The blue tongued skink is a lizard that is endemic to Australia, Indonesia and New Guinea. There are eight species of these skinks. These little guys are full of personality and a little bit of surprise once they stick their tongues out at you. Their little tongues are literally a bright blue color, which can be striking against the animals' often-times drab coloration. The species we chose to draw is an Australian species, the Northern Blue Tongued Skink (Tiliqua scincoides intermedia). The Northerns live in (you guessed it!) Northern regions of Australia and are the largest and heaviest of the eight species. They're diurnal omnivores and so they eat lots of bugs, fruit, and flowers while roaming around their habitat during the day.
The Northland Green Gecko (Naultinus grayii). This is one of my favorite geckos. Ever. They're rare, beautiful, brightly colored geckos. It is near impossible to find them in the pet trade, and if you do they can cost you an easy ten grand for a pair. It's a lot easier to buy a sticker of one these days than an actual gecko. These beautiful geckos are endemic to the gorgeous country of New Zealand where they are critically endangered and intensely protected by the government there. These beautiful creatures are diurnal, arboreal and live only in the northern tip of New Zealand where they eat a variety of bugs and the occasional treat of berries and nectar.
Pet Sticker of the Month for August
Each month, at the end of the month we ask you all to enter your beloved reptile and amphibian pets to our monthly pool. We pull a name out of that pool and doodle it up. This month, we drew this gorgeous creature. This is a very special sticker in my heart. I collaborated with the owner of the model for this Tegu, and by the time everything was done both of us were in tears. It was a very great experience, and one I'll never forget.
Meet Xenia. She’s a big beautiful argentine black and white tegu. This isn’t any ordinary tegu girl, she’s changed many a heart and mind on what a lizard is. And a lizard is anything but scary. Xenia started out showing people how cool tegus are by visiting a preschool classroom and wiggling her giant way into the kids’ hearts. Xenia is a big tegu advocate, and loves sharing her awesome cuddles with anyone who crosses her path. After all, who could resist a big lizard puppy?
The Argentine Black and White Tegu (Tupinambis merianae) is the largest species of Tegu. The Argentine Black and White Tegu can get up to four feet long and weigh up to fifteen pounds. These lizards co-evolved with the Savannah monitors and fill the same void, except these guys are in South America. In the wild they eat a variety of items including bugs and insects, eggs, birds, other reptiles and also fruits and berries when given the chance. These gorgeous animals make pretty good pets if you have the means to keep them and can be pretty sweet and tame as long as you continue to work with them.
No News is Sometimes Good News
We focused this week on doing doodle squigs, and don't have any new news for the shop as far as products go. We are waiting on some static clings to get in, though. T-shirts are going to be a tad later than what we were expecting, and might not have them at the expo after all. We are going to get a few more stickers this week and next week so we can open up our second sticker shop, though. We'll have some cupcakes, butterflies, and a few doggies to start out.
Thanks for reading,
We finished quite a few doodles this week! YAY! We also got our new printer, inks, vinyl, paper, and vinyl cutter machinery on it's way, so we've begun adding new items to the shop! What a week! Been doodling like crazy! Our goal of 15 species for July is well on it's way!
We may have given you a little bit of insight about the agricolae last week during our WIP update on the squig. These little geckos are catching on in popularity, and for good reason! They're pretty personable, tiny and they puff up like little angry dragons when they get mad or scared.
The Boa Constrictor Constrictor. We consulted a pretty keen and knowledgeable keeper on this pretty thing. He suggested we do this locale, since it seems they're the most popular. He also helped us with line-art consults to make sure that the body and head were accurate to the species. I'd like to thank Michael Tiller for helping us out with this one! He really loves the boas and it shows in how chatty he can be about them! I love talking with him about them--I always learn something new and interesting.
I've only met a few boa constrictors in person, but those that I have met are all so sweet. My favorite part about them are the little mustaches they all have. So adorable. And much like the burmese pythons, I LOVE their giant forked tongues.
While we are trying to focus more on species to doodle, we did leave open a tad bit of time to squiggle up some additional morphs before the next show. It was ALBINO week. Lots of albino things. It wasn't planned that way, but that's sort of how it turned out. Enjoy these new doodles and expect to see them in shop in a couple weeks
Commissioned Doodles of the Week
Commissioned doodles are expedited stickers that come with stickers. Anyone who commissions a piece gets their stickers before anyone else can buy them! This was a commissioned doodle from Star, a loyal customer who we appreciate in so many ways. She was excited to book a commission with us and share a few Steppe Runner photographs so we could doodle this cool little lizard. Pretty neat things! I hope you guys enjoy this new addition to our shop! We'll have him available once Star receives her package.
We lost a member of our motorcycle family last week. I didn't personally know Chris, but any loss in the motorcycle community hits hard with every racer. So much love has come of these decals. It was an honor for me to be designated as the artist for them. Rest in peace, Chris Knauer #74.
Next Week's Doodles
This one was a request from a little lady who asked for a booking long before we began booking anything for custom stickers. It wasn't a commission, but I decided to take this doodle on and put it in my shop since she was so patient and sweet about having to wait. Her enthusiasm really sparked my inspiration. He's not quite finished but we'll get him done by next week's TAIF!
We never got to our little gecko we planned to have done by this Friday. Hoping Monday we'll start that one. It's one of my favorite geckos, so I'm pretty excited to do it and feeling very antsy to get it done. I made it a goal-gecko so I could look forward to drawing it, and I am almost at that goal, I just have to finish this tortoise and the blue tongued skink first!
We just started our new line of DISHWASHER magnets! We've been stewing on these pretty things for months now, just waiting till we had the means to be able to make them. These little guys are made-to-order and printed and cut in our own home! :) They're not produced in large quantities, but they are cut out professionally with some spiffy equipment to leave you with a really clean edge. Soon we'll have more of these in our shop. Just have to divvy up the designs and get them out. We're also waiting on more magnetic material. We posted these for sale on Tuesday and they were sold out by Wednesday morning. We'll have them in stock again soon!
Mini Sticker Sets!
These will be back in stock on Thursday of next week! We miss having these around! These little mini sticker sets will also be given frequently as freebies for our amazing clients who purchase at least ten dollars worth of stickers from us. For the minis we're doing them as restickables or as the little permanent decals. You can stick and restick or just stick and leave it. The size of these will also be a tad bit larger than they used to be since we have the convenience of having a printer right in our own home to make them with. Also! You can pick the eight stickers you want in the mini sticker sets or just have them random. They are printed to-order so we can print whichever you would like!
We just opened up printing services! We can print stickers on glossy paper, restickable matte vinyl or on glossy permanent vinyl. Whichever you prefer! Our inks are an eco-friendly kind with a Green Guard certification for low-emissions. That's GREAT for the environment and makes the printing process for me safer than standard inks!
Static Clings and Clear Vinyl Stickers
Yep! We will have static clings and clear vinyl stickers in shop next month. We're waiting on the static cling and clear vinyl media to come in but with our new professional printer we can totally print on clear media. The ink stays fast on there!
The Sticky Situation Project Updates
Seri is ALL DONE with blocks! Now we're just watching to see her finish stitching together all the blocks together and finishing the quilt. Now our next goal is to sell enough stickers to get to Tinley in October so we can be there to see it. In order to do that we've got lots of new designs coming up and some new ideas to keep our shop fresh. Crossing fingers!! We really want to see everyone there and see this fundraiser quilt in person!
Doodling FULL BLOWN CRAZY doodles this week. Already we've completed two and a half. Our goal was two this week with a four species goal as a really good week. I'd say we did pretty well! Read further to learn more about our pre orders, new doodles and also about an auction going on in a group on Facebook!
This week’s doodles
The namesake of my shop are all the little critters I have in my house. Geckos. I adore geckos more than any other animal. Well, maybe not salamanders. Salamanders are pretty funny. We just can’t own most of them in Oregon, so my love lies in keeping geckos instead. This week was one of my favorite weeks for drawing doodles. It was gecko week, essentially. I drew up a Mourning Gecko, a Malaysian Cat Gecko and started with a Eurydactylodes agricolae (agricolae for short).
One of the smallest species of geckos is the teeny tiny Mourning Gecko. Funny thing about these? They’re all female! Girl power! The whole species lays eggs without the help of males. Pretty neat, huh? The way they fertilize them is by a process called parthenogenesis. It’s… sort of like cloning. But not quite. The little lady takes her own DNA and mixes it all up, rearranges it, and puts it in an egg. Then she lays it. Usually they lay two eggs. We have a few of these little pretties. I love them. They chirp and chirp and chirp when they’re happy and it’s an amazing thing to hear when you’re relaxing at home. They sound like little teeny clicks.
Malaysian Cat Geckos come in a variety of locales. I really love all of them, but I’m not well versed in the locales. I’m not even exactly sure how many there are or how their eyes play into the role of locales. But I do know that the eyes play a big role. I look at images and talk to experts in the species to make sure my art is accurate to locales and species. It’s important to me that my work looks accurate. That way you’re not getting a weird hybridy thing. These little geckos are super sensitive and demand specialty care. They require deionized water for misting, so you can’t just spray them with regular treated water like most geckos. It takes a very avid keeper to do well with these beautiful creatures. Maybe someday I can own some myself. Their curly tails and silly-looking kitty cat demeanor make me smile.
Agricolae have a common name: The Bauer’s Chameleon Gecko, but I have actually never heard them referred to that in the reptile industry. In order to figure out their common name I actually had to google it. Everyone just calls them agricolae (a-grih-cole-ay) (“a” sounds like the “a” in apple). I’ve had the luck to meet a few of these little things. My buddy and I call them bullet train joker geckos affectionately. These things puff up all funny like and their tails are ridiculously big considering the size of the animal. They’re very small, too. They fit easily on your thumb like little Thumbelinas. And they HUG you, too. It’s pretty adorable.
Next Week's Doodles
Next week I have three doodles on the plan. Only clincher? They’re secret! One is a gecko. One is a tortoise. One is a snake. I need you to vote on which I should do first, because I just can’t make up my mind! It's been pretty even across the board on what you'd like to see, so if you haven't
Pre Order Items
We have eight items up for pre-order in our Etsy shop. Our Satanic Leaf Tailed Gecko, Malaysian Cat Gecko, Mourning Gecko, three Dart Frogs and two Pacman Frogs. I've been wanting to get all of these in, and I'm glad to be able to finally do that. We have our own machinery coming and as soon as our decal vinyl gets in we'll be making the regular decal stickers. We already have our restickable sticker vinyl in and our magnets in so we can start printing those and cutting them out as soon as our vinyl cutter gets here.
If you pre-order, every single sticker you pre-order comes with a small sized magnet. PLUS you will get your stickers shipped one week before they are available to purchase in the shop. Get them before everyone else with extras!
Name That Beardie Sticker! Event
Contests have been moved to twice a month instead of every week. This is so we don't bombard you with so many posts and so that we are able to keep them to a minimum with higher quality content. We don't want to spam you with 3-5 posts a day or more because we know that your friends' posts are pretty important to you. That also means most of our debuted stickers will be shared on other venues than Facebook and on our weekly blog.
Right now we're going towards the end of our little event. Voting for your favorite beardie and their story ends tonight. Please vote for your favorite beardie to help this contest along! :)
Donations and Help For Jared
We donated a $30 credit to benefit Jared Johnson, a fellow herper who came onto some very tough times. Since someone bid $30 we added a custom sticker commission with four prints to the bundle. If you want a chance at getting this item, click on the graphic above to be taken directly to the auction. Check out the other auctions, too! There are some nice geckos, feeders, supplies and MORE up for grabs! This auction ends July 2nd.
15% of any proceeds we make until the 3rd will also be donated to Jared Johnson. So if you can't bid on those items, buying from the shop will go for a good cause as well. :)
The Sticky Situation Quilt
We didn't get to much art this week, but we were able to add a couple new things to our shop and opened up a few new options for commissions. We have just begun commercial work and logos, and are very excited to get to doodling again for the July Debut animals that are on our roster. Starting next week we'll be doing that for you all to see!
Don't forget about USARK week! It ends on Sunday, June 8th. 10% of your order goes directly to USARK at the end of USARK week. Thank you for your support of us, and of USARK. Visit our shop here to help out.
Name That Sticker!
We are naming our stickers after your pets! If you'd like to get one of our stickers named after one of your pets of the same species (doesn't have to be the same morph!) be sure to take a look at animals we have pinned on our page to submit a picture of your pet and a little story! The story and photo with the most likes by the end of the week will have the sticker named after them!
This week we're finishing up with our dalmatian crested gecko, so get to voting today! Next week we're going to be naming our leucistic axolotl, so axie keepers keep an eye out on Sunday for the posting!
Woo hoo! Finally! Our meller's chameleon and green iguana finally came into stock! You can get these pretty new stickers as magnets, re-positionable wall decal stickers or regular vinyl decal stickers. We got the commissioned pieces out to the person who ordered them and BLAM! Now they can go into shop! I adore this meller's chameleon more than any chameleon I've ever seen. Even more than the pygmies! They are so comical and cute. It makes me want to hug them for ever and ever. I can't believe it's even a THING.
In addition to the meller's, this green iguana is pretty awesome, too. We had a few requests for this, and a charming little lady decided to commission us to put it in shop earlier than on schedule. This bad boy wasn't originally supposed to be in shop until late in the year. Lucky you! Species commissions are $25 each and you get four stickers with your order. Any species you want can be turned into a sticker. Terms of this type of commission mean I can use them in my shop. If you're looking for something more exclusive, we also do commissioned pieces for you on those that won't be used in our shop as stickers.
Logos and Commercial Work Opened
We recently got brave and opened up logo commissions. Glad we did, because we are extremely happy with how our first commissioned logo turned out. It's for the Redding Reptile Expo, and we are proud to have been able to do their logo. We're also excited to be vending for them, too in July! If you're in the Redding area or close by come give us a visit! We'd LOVE to meet you! It's a brand new show this year, but there is already a really great roster on the Vendor list! You can visit them on Facebook.
The Fundraiser Quilt for USARK
I can't even begin to say how utterly impressed I am by what Seri has been doing with this quilt! I was already awed by the previews, and the non-stitched blocks. Boy. Once they're stitched onto the quilt they REALLY pop! I can't even fathom how she picks just the right fabrics for these and can envision it before she even cuts it out. Per usual--just blown away. These three blocks will be sewn onto the main quilt and it will go up for raffle to benefit USARK. So far Seri has completed these three with many more to come! If you'd like to see more updates and curiosities check out the Facebook page we have for The Sticky Situation Project.
Thank you all for reading!
Please comment below which animals you'd like to see next in our shop! We wanna hear from YOU! :)
THANK ART it's Friday! Fridays come much too quickly around here!! Next week you should start seeing some work in progress stuff again! We totally got super busy last week and weren't even able to get you a weekly blog post! Dang! Moving and cleaning a big house tends to make one lose track of time! We're updating you this lovely Friday to catch you up on the last two weeks.
Last week we got a few new stickers in stock! A couple sand boas, a rainbow boa and a red eyed tree frog have all been added. Those rainbow boas have been excruciatingly popular with you all, and so we're glad that we got those in when we did. A big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Shelby Chibs Harris--who inspired me to get those rainbow boas up. We have more amphibians joining us in June. And July you should see some more geckos.
For months now you guys have been asking us for magnets. A few asked for some re-positionable stickers, as well. This month we were able to bring both of those items in stock for you. Any listing in our shop now has the option of sticker, wall decal (re-positionable sticker) or a magnet. These items are currently cut out by hand, but by the end of summer we hope to be able to provide you with magnets and wall decals that are cut professionally just like our vinyl decal stickers. We're going to be adding new items in the next few weeks, too so keep an eye out for some really awesome things in stock.
Magnets are a great item if you want to jazz up your refrigerators, cars or even your fridge-turned-incubator. We also love our restickable wall decals! Stick them once, twice, fifty times! They won't lose their stickiness unless the sticker gets dirty. Great for kids, too who love stickers, but also love to put them on walls, doors, closets, and on themselves.
Updates on the Quilt
Seri is seriously the most amazing person I know. I'd bet money on it. The quilt is looking so amazing. I don't even know how she does it. I love getting sneak peeks of it, and enjoy seeing everyone's reactions, too once she posts them to the fundraiser Facebook page The Sticky Situation Project. I mean, LOOK at these blocks. They are amazing!
I had to share my ultimate favorite, of course, the chinese cave gecko. I have a few cave geckos and as far as geckos go, the caves are my passion. The bright and purplish hue they have are going to look great on this quilt once all the stitching is done and in place.
The second one I wanted to share was the tokay gecko. I recently acquired a tokay gecko as a pet and I've pretty much fallen in love with him. They are really neat critters. Jason, my other half calls him the "Dr. Seuss Gecko". They totally do look like an animal right out of the Dr. Seuss books! Even in person.
Naming Our Stickers
In the next few weeks we want to hear from you! We'll be posting up little contests for you to do to get our stickers named after your pets! Stay tuned for that! We'll post up more details on this contest soon on Facebook! Does one of our stickers look like yours? Comment here to tell us about him or her! We'd love to see some pictures, too so share pictures of your pets on our Facebook Page! :)
Woo hoo! Our move is going GREAT! We've got a few new things to add to our shop. A few new stickers got in and we've got nine designs going up for sale on Monday as magnets! Shirts are also on their way to you.
New Stickers, Out-of-Stock Stickers--IN STOCK!
YAY! Finally! It feels like forever when we get new stickers in stock. Here are our newest little ones that are available now! The new leopard gecko, two new gargs. Since these were morph commissions, we sent out these new stickers to the commissioners first. Now they are available to you!
Some of our designs were so popular at the last show that we SOLD OUT! Wow THANK YOU! Bearded dragons, chameleons and our leucistic axolotl all sold-out or nearly sold out. So we got the beardies and chams back in, but the axies will be back in stock next week.. OUr May debut stickers including the Rainbow Boa, Sand Boas, Red Eyed Tree Frog, Green Iguana and Meller's Chameleon will be in at the same time.
You guys have been asking for magnets for forever now! Since January, at our first show you've expressed interest in magnets with our sticker designs on them. We decided to just get on it finally and do it. While getting them printed professionally was a little bit spendy, (like $500 for only one design! Yikes!) we've got some hand-cut magnets featuring our sticker designs. These bad boys are available for $4 each. Any of our stickers in shop can be used as a magnet in the future! They're a 20 mil magnet so they work great for your fridge or vehicles.
At the moment we have a limited number of them, but if they're popular enough we'll begin making these a lot more often and have them available full-time. No voting required. To start out we will be using the Red Crested Gecko, Leucistic Axolotl, Pied Ball Python, Leachie and dalmatian crested gecko. We had a little bit of extra magnet space and so added one of each of the following too: a mack snow leopard gecko, a few high yellow normal morph leos, a normal corn snake, a tokay gecko and an albino hognose.
We sent out your t-shirts yesterday. If you ordered them by April 30th for our last open window, you should see them in your mailbox by Monday. Even as soon as tomorrow! Some of you expressed that you were sad that the window closed so soon, so we will be opening up our permanent t-shirt shop on Spreadshirt by the beginning of next week! We'll make an announcement on our Facebook page when that shop is open. Men's, women's and kid's shirts will be available featuring our designs! We hope that in a few months' time we'll be able to do these shirts from our own home, but Spreadshirt makes it so easy to get you shirts sooner! If there is any style of shirt or accessory you would like, let us know! We can always make one for you.
Commission Bookings Open
You can now book a species or morph commission with us! We are booked through July now, so if you would like to do one soon, message us on Facebook or contact us on our website. We are booking through August, and only 4 openings per month. No pre-payment required until the date of your booking, so you don't have to worry about paying now, just right before I begin to draw. If you need to know when a certain species is going to be drawn that you don't see in our shop, we have our list broken down into months, so just ask us and we'll let you know!
Wow, Seri is truckin' truckin' truckin on the quilt updates! GO SERI! :) So far she's shared with us the red eyed tree frog and the chameleon blocks! We're so excited! If you haven't heard about this yet, go check it out! The quilt is going to be raffled for USARK.
This week has been a little bit slower on the update side than other weeks. We really don't have much to say! There haven't been any new doodles added this week, and no new stickers have come in yet. Hopefully next week we'll have some new stickers! What we have been busy with this week, though are the typical shop-like things. You know, the boring stuff like inventory and book keeping. We're also in the middle of a move, so a lot of our time is being used for packing and cleaning. Hoping to be moved in by the 25th.
As you can see, we did completely rebuild our website and changed hosts. The original website was a bit of a trial-and-error type of thing. We weren't really happy with the way the site looked and the slowness of the e-commerce shop so it wasn't worth it to us to stay with IndieMade. Not a lot of traffic was going to the shop there either. Now we're with Weebly! Where my other websites are as well. Love Weebly. Our new website is bright and pretty now. We hope that you like it! If you're ever looking for a great website hosting service, it's really tough to compare to the awesomeness that is Weebly.
On our Facebook page we currently have a little give-away contest going on. Once we reach 1000 likes we'll be giving away $10 in stickers! If you think that someone would like our stickers invite them to check out our page and let them know about the contest! :)
We LOVE giving away stickers. It makes us so happy to make you happy. Seeing your excitement makes everything about this shop a hundred gajillion times more awesome.
The expo last weekend was fun! Thank you all for coming and meeting me and also just visiting and leaving your awesome feedback! We also sold out of a few stickers. Wow! That's just insane! Haha. I suppose we'll have to get more of those popular stickers in-stock than we have been having. Namely the Panther Chameleons and Bearded Dragons. Also our Leucistic Axolotl nearly sold out. We have one left in shop! Very cool! Those should be back in stock in a couple weeks. We really weren't expecting them to be SO popular, but very glad that they were!
Updates on the Quilt
If you still don't know about this quilt, please go check out the page. Fundraising for USARK comes in many forms. This quilt is one of the many fundraising opportunities for the non-profit. It's a quilt being put together by the ever talented and amazing Seri Dukart. My artwork from the shop is going on it.
Last weeks' winner for the voting round was the Red Harlequin Crested Gecko. Won by a LONG shot! This week we're voting on leopard geckos and african fat tailed geckos, and it looks like the High Yellow Normal Leopard Gecko is winning. Go vote for your favorite if you haven't already! And thank you for the support during this project!
Thanks for reading and Happy Sticking!
We’re not going to be home to post this on Friday! We’ll off to a show! So we're posting this blog early. Thursday, Friday same thing, right? We did doodle a few things on commission and also got a few new stickers in stock! Whirlwind of a week for sure! Hope to see some of you at the expo! Please introduce yourselves!
Our New Doodles!
Got that iguana and Meller's cham done this week. Those were the last two commissions that we had for awhile. This iguana was awesome to draw. I am sure it's my newest favorite sticker. I had originally dreaded doodling it because of all those spikes and the huge mess of big scales on the jowels and neck, but it turns out it wasn't as difficult or agonizing as I thought it would be. If there's anything that would make you step outside of your comfort zone, commissions are definitely it! This iguana made me grateful for opening commissions when I did!
The second commission I was asked to doodle was this little Meller's chameleon! Wow, I have never seen a curiouser animal than this. I didn't even know these cute little horned critters existed! Those scalloped spikes and horn on its head are so cute. How did I not know something so adorably comical existed? To top it all off it has these great little green spots all over its body. Pretty much the perfect suspect for a Dr. Suess book. We'll be ordering these guys from our sticker printers on Monday and so should have them a couple weeks after that. I'd like to thank my commissioner for allowing me to step out of my little doodle bubble! Thank you!
Our Newest Stickers!
They finally came! Hognose snakes, corn snakes and the hermann’s tortoise! This is EXCITING! I love adding all these stickers into the shop. Just fills my little heart with joy. Now we've got a pretty good selection going for reptiles. And only more to come! These pretty little snakes make a great addition to our snake section in our shop. So far these corn snakes and hoggies have been extremely popular on Tumblr. Our Tumblr traffic in our Etsy shop all but tripled compared to traffic from Facebook after sharing them on the blog there.
Monday we're putting in another order, as you saw above, to add our May stickers. Hoping those come closer to mid-May, but the printers have been working very very hard and are really popular so it may be a little closer to the end of May. I might be ordering stickers a leeeeettle bit earlier so they get here at the beginning of the month instead of the end. We'll be lowering the stock online we have of these pretties while we're away at the show this weekend!
I’ve got the question “What is a commission?” a lot since I opened them up. Basically a commission is where you, a client pays an artist to draw something. It’s not like a commission in the sense of you sell something and make a commission off of it.
Commissions are scheduled to open June 9th if all goes well! We are in the middle of a BIG move. With Jason’s racing, my show schedule, moving, and taking care of the geckos we’re taking just a short break from doodling much else until June. We’ll still be introducing new stickers during this time, but new doodles will be postponed until we’re all settled in. Once we're settled, I’ll be doing about one or two commissions a week depending on the type of commission we get. Naturally some commissions will take longer than others. So, it may be more like one every two weeks some times.
Updates on the Quilt
Our newest vote-ins for this quilt is the bumblebee dart frog, red eyed tree frog. So far our picked designs are as follows: Albino hognose snake, pied ball python, normal ambilobe panther chameleon, bumblebee dart frog, red eyed tree frog and the red footed tortoise. Right now we're voting on what gargoyle gecko or crested gecko are your favorites. Go vote if you haven't!
See you for our next blog post on Monday, What the EXPO!?
