It seems my weeks keep getting busier and busier! I love it! The amphibian voting poll ending soon on The Sticky Project, so go vote! We added a few new squigs thanks to some open commissions, and we have a show coming up soon!
New Squigs We opened a few small-scale commissions last week for morph and species additions to our shop. We were so happy when they all sold out quickly and finished up a few morph ones. Here they are! We had three morph requests, two for some gargoyle geckos and one for a leopard gecko. Since we want to focus on getting more species in the shop, but have had a lot of morph requests I thought this would be a good solution to that. We had just a small bit of free time open this week to finish these.
This little gargoyle gecko is modeled after a gorgeous striped garg. I was stunned to see it, and very happy with how it came out. So pleased! The red is super cute, too! Reminds me of my gargoyle gecko girl Balloon when she’s super fired up. (you can see a picture of Balloon below fired down)
Now we have four gargoyle gecko morphs, two of which are available now, (and on sale) and two of which will be available in three weeks or so!
The happy leopard gecko is based off of a pet leopard gecko! She’s so pretty. A little high yellow normal leopard gecko. I may just have to name this sticker after that little leo. This bright sunshiny leo makes me smile.
Upcoming Squigs We also got commissioned for two species commissions to be brought on. We’re doodling one right now, a green iguana, and this little guy is turning out very nice so far! We’re doing a bit more detail on this guy, with all those big pretty scales on its neck. More WIP pics can be found on our Tumblr soon, as soon as they are shown to the person who purchased the commission we’ll post them there.
Another for next week which is the meller’s chameleon. Pretty neat little cham, I’ve never seen a meller’s before but I adore the little cookie-cutter looking scalloped scales on its back and tail. This is definitely something I really enjoy about getting commissions for the shop. I get to see and doodle animals that I may have never even thought about before or knew existed! This job will never get old!
T-Shirts and Shop Sale Our t-shirt order and sale are open until Wednesday April 30th. There are select stickers on sale for $1.99. After the 30th, prices on shirts are going up to $20 each. Kids’ shirts will be less than that, and the men’s 3X and 4X will be a little more. These shirts will be ordered on May 1st and set to production. You should get them around May 15th.
When Will Commissions Be Open Again? In our personal life, there’s a big change happening! So, we’ve got commissions for more stickers closed until probably around the middle of June. We’ll update you on Facebook when we open them up! We want to do 5 commissions each month! We’ll also open up personal and commercial commissions then, hopefully! That’s the plan.
This week had a lot going on! Your shirts arrived in our facility this week, we had some great doodles get done and we opened up t-shirt orders again by popular demand! We've caught up on a lot of, and possible commissions opening up in a couple weeks. You still have a chance to win $10 in free stickers, too!
New doodles Dart frogs have been a huge goal to reach for the shop. They're colorful, beautiful, and a ton of people are able to identify with them. For the doodles this week, we chose to doodle up some of the most popular dart frogs to bring onto our stickery crew. It was a tough decision picking only three. Have you seen dart frogs lately? They are all so beautiful! We narrowed down our choices to the bumblebee dart frog (Dendrobates leucomelas), blue-jeans dart frog (Dendrobates pumilio) and blue dart frog (Dendrobates azureus). And we'll have a ton more to bring to the shop, too in the future. Might be closer to next year some time, though.
The bumblebee dart frog is a personal favorite. So of course, it was drawn first. For some reason things that are yellow are very attractive for me as an artist. Yellow frogs, butterflies, bees, I just love them. That and if I didn't I bet a certain someone not named William Bedard would have killed me. The second dart frog I chose to doodle is the blue jeans dart frog. This little guy seems to be fairly popular and is in the top ten dart frogs that show up in a google search. Seemed to me to be fairly iconic as a dart frog, so that's the reason for this adorable little addition.
Coming into a close second in favorite frog species for me, is the blue dart frog. Gosh. Ever Google these things? How do they even exist? All those blues and those ridiculously adorable black spots!!! This little thing was a delight to look up and doodle. This little guy makes the last of the three dart frogs we're introducing to our shop at this time. In the future, of course, we will have a TON more. There are so many species it would be a shame if we only represented three of them.
Any More Doodles? So, I've added a lot of squigs this month. How many? About ten? Fifteen? Yeah. Something like that! That's a lot! I mostly hurry hurry hurried to get a few designs going so that Seri would have a good selection for you all to vote on for the quilt we're collabing for. So, now I am absolutely doodled out! Don't worry though! I will get to squigging again in a few weeks and posting them again to the page. For a little while I am going to be working on a personal project and some pieces for my portfolio to build that up a little more!
Contest for $10 coming to a close soon! Tomorrow! Tomorrow is the last day for the contest we are doing on our Facebook Page. There are a ton of options to enter. Tagging someone, being tagged by a new liker, sharing the contest picture, liking the page, and MORE ways to enter. Ever buy something from our shop? You're automatically entered? Reviewed? That's an additional entry! Best of luck to everyone! Counting your entries will happen on Sunday and an announcement will be made for who the winner is! Best of luck!
Commissions First off, what is a commission? A commission is where a client (you) order an exclusive or custom drawing from me. I accept your request and we agree on terms and you get a piece!
Many of you have asked me about doing commissions for you. I'm happy to say that I am going to be opening up a few slots for commissions soon! In a couple weeks! Getting all caught up on stickers with the help of Seri's enthusiasm for the quilt has allowed me to open up some free time!
We'll post commission types and prices as soon as they are open.
T-shirts In and Out! For those of you who ordered shirts from our first order spree: expect to see yours Monday! Thank you all for your support and enthusiasm. Because they have been so utterly popular, we opened up another ordering option for you. Our introductory price of $15 (plus shipping) ends April 30th, so be sure to get that order in by then! Our next odering options will be closer to $20 per shirt plus shipping.
We added Kid's sizing to this ordering option. So you can get men's, women's or kid's sizing.
Quilt Updates Yay! Seri and I have been working working WORKING so hard on this quilt. (Okay, mostly Seri.) She's got one block done. Our winning designs so far are the pied ball python, the albino hog nose snake and the beautiful rainbowy panther chameleon. Our next voting round ends tomorrow! We're voting on tortoises on Facebook. So far the red footed tortoise is in the lead, but you never know! If you want to see any of the other tortoises win, get to voting!
Thanks for reading!
This week has been full of very quick and hurried sketches and doodles. We're preparing for that quilt that we're doing with Seri. So we have a few more species than normal to share as well as a few more than normal scheduled for next week. Our order for stickers went through and so we should see those new designs in shop in a couple weeks. We're also working diligently to get you t-shirts on a full-time basis!
This Week's Doodles
Normally we only have two or three doodle squigs to share with you on a weekly basis! This week we have a lot more than that. We the same number of species and squigs this week that we usually shoot for in a about month's time. Good for you? Good for me! Expansion is FUN.
We finished our little sandboas so they're definitely on schedule to be debuted in May. We brought on a normal and anery morph. No matter what squiggle I doodle, I just fall in love with the little critters. Sandboas are a pretty cute little snake, and one of those that just looks like a cartoon all by itself. Makes them fairly easy to doodle! It was definitely a blast. I wish I would have finished the little buggars last week, but being sick really set me back on a lot of things for the shop, including proper inventory. WHOOPS!
In addition to the sandboas, we were going to do the rainbow boa. We are still going to have that little sucker on for May, however, we pulled a few frogs into the forefront so we can get a little bit more amphibian action going. We're in desperate need for some more amphibs. So our second frog to join us is the red eyed tree frog. I never realised how gorgeous these frogs were. When you don't pay a lot of attention to a certain species I guess you can miss those beautiful beauuuuuuuuutiful details. I had no idea just how colorful they were and kind of took it for granted that they were just a frog with red eyes. Thanks for everyone requesting them! I'm in love with the species now, and maybe in the future we'll bring some on as pets! I mean, LOOK at those lats! Blue and yellow and beautiful!
On top of that red eyed tree frog, we tossed in another froggie to join us at Happy Gecko Sticky Situation. The pacman frog! We got a ton of requests for this little fella. They're so fat and cute and hungry looking. We did an albino/yellow one and a green one. These little guys will be it for the frogs this week, but we'll continue doodling more to add to our amphibian collection. After all, I really really love amphibians. Maybe even more than geckos, which is a little asinine for me considering I have about thirty geckos and only four amphibians!
Next Week's Doodles
Now that we have some more amphibs on board, we are going to doodle up that rainbow boa. You hear that right? Yep! Rainbow boa is our next-in-line squig. Because we promised it to you all. After we're done with the rainbow boa, we're going to go back to doing a bumblebee dart frog (Dendrobates leucomelas), a blue dart frog (Dendrobates azureus) and a blue jeans dart frog (Dendrobates pumilio). (If you couldn't tell, I picked the most ridiculous-sounding common names I could find hehe) Those will be all the frogs we bring on for awhile, and if we finish all those squigs next week, I expect to doodle a blue tongue skink, iguana and a red tailed boa of sorts. Our doodle list does evolve and change, so nothing is ever set in stone but these are our current goal animals!
Upcoming Stickers and Shirts
This month we will see our hognose snakes, hermann's tortoise and corn snakes all in stock. We put our April order in and will see them in about eight more days or so! We'll be busy doing stock photography for those. We will also see t-shirts coming in next week. So those of you who ordered a t-shirt from us will see those soon, too! Exciting, right? We're stoked!
As well as getting those shirts in, we're trying SO hard to get all our designs edited to be used as t-shirts. We're working on opening up a Spreadshirt shop, but we haven't debuted it yet because we need to take time to add more designs to the store. We only have uploaded the orders that you had ordered from our Etsy shop since we had those designs already edited. At the moment we're still doodling as quickly as possible, and editing our existing designs for shirts is going to take us a few days to push through. Once we've got a few more things that we want for the quilt project, we'll be back on track to putting more designs and options in our t-shirt shop!
Updates on the Quilt
Our quilt is really coming along. Seri is doing a FABULOUS job picking out fabrics and colors that will be used for it. She just amazes me. Every update I get she just seriously blows me away! So, here is a bit of fabric Seri has put together for the base of that quilt! As we get more fabric, finished blocks, and voting working we'll be updating the page and this blog a with news.
In the photo above, you can see the base colors that Seri has picked for the quilt and the pattern that will be used for it. The leafy print is going to be an added border to this pattern. The second creamy print will be the background, the green reptile print is going to be used for the little square rails and the brown fabric will be the blocks that the little Happy Gecko Sticky Situation designs will be appliquéd on. On the back of this quilt, we'll be using the cute geckoey reptiley design below. These choices are going to look absolutely fabulous once they are all sewn together. If you'd like to go cast some votes on what little squigs will be featured on the quilt, go check out the page for this project! We are so very excited to be doing this, and hope you are too!
Thanks for reading and keeping up with updates for our shop! See you next week!

This week has been just as busy as last week. I haven't even finished inventory, which I usually am able to do the day after the show is over. There must have been a few sickies at the show, because I came home with something. Despite that we have some awesome news to share. A new product, shows coming up and a huuuuuge project that I'm doing with my good friend Seri. (she is the brain of the operation. Do not let her lie to you).
The Sticky Situation Project
Normally I just throw new doodles at you first hand. But this project is much more important. One of my best friends came to me some time last week with a fantastic idea. 'Let's make a quilt for a USARK auction!' By "let's" I mean she's doing all the awesome work. I just have some art. Art that happens to go great on appliqué type things. I gave Seri (that's my friend) the license to use art that our follows choose to put on the quilt.
Basically you all vote on what art you want to see on the quilt and we put it on there for you. *Ahem* SERI puts it on there for you. Because she's amazing. And funny. And wonderful. And smart. And I am so honored to be doing this with her. If you'd like to learn more about this project, like our Facebook Page. We'll post updates, WIP pictures, and have voting polls for every thing we'll be using for the quilt. Plus, the support woudl be awesome since it's a fundraiser for USARK.
This Week's Doodles
Despite having several fevers come, go, sweats, chills and living off of cough drops this week I got this sandboa almost finished. I would have liked to have him done by this Friday, but I'm still kind of finding it hard to breathe and just want to sleep. Thank goodness for flu after shows, right?! haha. As soon as I'm up and off the couch when I'm not miserably working through the day at my day-job we'll finish up this little sandboa and do another morph, too.
Next Week's Doodle Schedule
The Rainbow Boa is up next after we finish the pictured sandboa and one more morph of that one. There will only be one morph of the rainbows, since well... err.. I don't think there are any morphs of rainbow boas. We've had several, and I mean several requests for this boa. We've also had a lot of requests for a constrictor boa, too. So I think a Columbian Red Tail is in order soon. Just one morph of that one, too. We aren't sure the exact order of the doodles, but there is going to be a bit of a focus on frogs. We're going to do some bumblebee darts, those little red ones with blue legs and a totally blue dart. Those are my favorites, so I guess I'll start with those and expand from there. There are SO many dart frogs. I'd love to do all of them! We'll work on at least 10 this year, though. We'll also toss a pacman in there and a red-eyed tree frog.
As I've said before, sometimes our requests change depending on a number of factors. One of those factors is of course request frequency, another is variety in our shop. I want to be able to reach as many people from different groups as possible. Right now our groups that are lacking the most variety are amphibians, invertebrates and snakes. Amphibians are a HUUUUGE group. So I'd like to work on expanding all of those.
Expo Success, New Product Introduction!
Boy howdy, this last show was a HUGE success! We talked a little bit about it in our last blog. Although most of our proceeds went towards gecko supplies. So we had a bit of a hard time working into the Renton show coming up, but guess what?! We're also going to RENTON! May 3rd! We'll see you there! We'll also have some temporary tattoos available there. Since it's a little bit expensive to start out in temporary tattoos because of the sheer numbers per design we're going to just start out with our most favorite tattoo and add one design each month. We'll have you vote on the next temporary tattoo you'd like to see come for May. For April, we'll see the Leucistic Axolotl.
We know you'll be excited about it and it's a great alternative to stickers for younger children if you're worried about them getting stuck to the wrong things (although our stickers don't leave any residue). Plus! It's FUN to have such a cute little tattoo for a day! We'll be selling these temporary tattoos for $1.50 each. If they're REALLY popular, we'll add two new temporary tattoo designs each month.
Give Away April 20th
Well I just LOVE making people's days. And so, we're doing another give-away for $10 in Happy Gecko Sticky Situation stickers. There are rules on the Facebook Page on how to enter. Lots of ways to get an entry. We're grateful for all you followers, and for everyone who buys and reviews the stickers. Anyone who has posted previeously and has already been entered to win will just be entered again. It's one of those things where once you participate sharing your new stickers on our page, you'll always have an entry for it.
Off to another great week! Hopefully next week is full of more doodles, less sick and more busy! See you next Friday!
